10 YouTube Videos That Used To Rule The Internet

By Courtney Callahan, University of Iowa

As the end to yet another semester nears, finals week approaches sucking out every last bit of humor and energy left in the universe.

For the small fraction of students who spend all semester long studying, their week consists of blissful thoughts, pug playdates, and a cocky, yet satisfying “I run this class” smirk plastered on their faces. The vast majority will frantically flip through textbooks, slides, and flashcards, attempting to cram in a semester’s worth of knowledge in one or two nights.

Regardless of where you fall on the finals week spectrum, you are bound to experience a moment of energy drink-induced nostalgia. A moment spent looking and longing back to “End of the Year” parties, where the hardest thing you had to do was decide what dessert you were bringing. Before admitting defeat and curling up in a puddle of your own tears, take a  break and journey down YouTube video lane.

1. “Muffins”

Nothing says “You’ll Ace This Exam” like a perfectly baked Israeli and Palestinian conflict muffin right?

2. “Charlie Bit My Finger”

You know what hurts? Failing.

3. “Charlie the Unicorn”

Shun the non-believer! Shunnnnnnnn.

4. “Boom Goes the Dynamite”

Chant “boom goes the dynamite” after every the completion of every exam to ensure complete domination.

5. “Shoes”

Let’s get some shoes?

6. “Mother’s Day”

Is it time to see my family yet?

7. “Evolution of Dance”

Dance major studying 101.

8. “Peanut Butter Jelly Time”

Surprisingly, finals week is more annoying than this song.

9. “Fat Kid On A Rollercoaster”

One of the many acceptable reasons to chuckle in the library.

10. “Rusty the Narcoleptic Dog”

HEAD SHOT.

YouTube can blow up now. This was and will forever remain pure gold.
